Dr Cameron Wagg

Dr. Cameron Wagg is currently a research scientist with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada with a focus on agroecology and integrated cropping systems. Before that Cameron worked as a plant ecologist post-doctoral researcher at the University of Zürich in the Jena Experiment in Germany - a large European research consortium established in 2002 to address the effects of plant diversity on maintaining the long-term functioning of an ecosystem. Cameron research interests on utilizing plant diversity to improve ecosystem functioning and identifying plant traits that predict plant-plant and plant-soil interactions. Recent projects include assessing different agricultural management activities in Europe influence soil quality (biodiversity, fertility and nutrient use efficiency) and yield. He has been working for years to become a top scientist and field expert on soil organisms and how their physical characteristics and their interactions with each other affect local environments.
